Assistant Director for Digital Services
The Assistant Director for Digital Services for [Law Library] is a full-time, tenure-track, library faculty position, with full benefits. The Assistant Director position involves both library and teaching responsibilities with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2022.
The Assistant Director will
- Serve as liaison with Lexis and Westlaw representatives
- Work with IT personnel on pertinent issues
- Assist faculty with online learning platforms including Canvas and TWEN
- Assist faculty with online dissemination of scholarly publications including via SSRN
- Teach Legal Research (a 2 credit graded course)
- Provide reference services to students and faculty, students and faculty, and public patrons
- Do occasional cataloging and maintain collection statistics; serve as a liaison with the main library on online catalog issues
- Participate in collection development decisions
- Manage the library’s online archive of appellate briefs
- Serve on law school committees as assigned by the Dean of the College of Law
- Represent the Library and/or College of Law in the greater university and in the profession as appropriate.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
- Strong academic record
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills
- Legal reference experience and familiarity with the LibGuides platform are preferred.
