Electronic Services and Instruction Librarian 

[Law Library] invites applications for the position of Electronic Services and Instruction Librarian. This is a tenure track position and will be filled by an entry-level or newer librarian. We aim to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our faculty and student body, and seek faculty who can contribute to our Law School Diversity and Anti-Racism Goals. 

Core Duties 

  • Manage online database subscriptions, including password distribution, database training, and troubleshooting access issues. 
  • Participate with other J.D. librarians in teaching two credit hours of Basic Legal Research or Advanced Legal Research to 1Ls or second/third-year law students. 
  • Provide individualized and group instruction using a wide range of educational technologies. 
  • Participate in the liaison program providing research services to law faculty and training and support of student research fellows. 
  • Provide approximately 6-10 hours per week of reference services to library patrons. 
  • Prepare and maintains research guides. 
  • Coordinate purchase and maintenance of library equipment in conjunction with the IT Department. 
  • Serve on Law Library/Law School, University governance, and other professional committees as appropriate. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Engage as a member of the Law Library team and work to further the overall goals of the Law Library. 

Requirements/Qualifications 

J.D. from ABA -accredited law school required; Master’s degree in library and/or information science from ALA -accredited institution is strongly preferred. Strong service orientation; excellent oral and written communication; good organizational skills; ability to deal effectively with all library patrons; strong teamwork skills, adaptable to additional responsibilities.
