Instructor and Resource Management & Systems Librarian

The Law Library seeks an Instructor and Resource Management & Systems Librarian to administer and manage the technical services functions of the Law Library. The position will hold Instructor faculty rank within the Law School faculty and report to the Associate Dean of the Law Library & Information Services

Duties

  • Administer and manage the Law Library’s Sierra integrated library system (ILS) and Ex Libris 360 Link platform and any future ILS and discovery platforms 
  • Serve as the Law Library’s project lead in its migration to the University Library’s Alma ILS and Primo discovery service and coordinate and oversee Law Library staff training on the new systems 
  • Manage electronic resource access and authentication, including EZProxy and any authentication systems shared with the University Library, and serve as primary contact with vendors 
  • Serve as primary contact with the University Library on matters related to the ILS, discovery systems, authentication systems 
  • Responsible for development of standards for metadata and the cataloging of Law Library collections 
  • Responsible for overseeing and developing workflows for the management of physical collections 
  • Manage the Cataloging and Serials Coordinator and any future technical services staff 
  • Review and evaluate information resources and their usage and assist in collection development decision-making 
  • Develop strategies to enhance student and faculty awareness of Law Library collections and resources 
  • Provide data for Law Library surveys and reporting 
  • Coordinate acquisitions with the Law Library’s Business Administrative Associate 
  • Participate in the development of the Law Library budget 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited program or its foreign equivalent 
  • A minimum of one year of library work experience in a technical services role (cataloging or metadata, e-resource management, ILS or systems administration, acquisitions, etc.)
